From the recording Being a woman is hard
Lyrics
Being a woman is hard
I mean,
I'm not a man
So, I can't compare our hardship.
Let me run you through the hardship women face.
From a very younger age if your lucky enough,
You can grow to loose your virginity in the hands of someone that loves you at that time and leave another time.
Or
They love you and stay in love with the idea that they are your first and uhm you belong to them.
You are viewed as a property or a trophy as supposed to be viewed as a human.
In another part of the world, women are killed because they wore their head scarfs halfway.
Those who kill women, who gave birth to them?
Those who destroy deliberately the image of women, who gave birth to them?
Being a woman is hard.
Some unlucky ones when younger are raped and force to deal with the trauma all their lives.
'Forget about it' some will say. 'It happened years ago' others will tell the victims of rape.
I have PhD on my brains
I am married and have children
I am a doctor with my own practice
I am a political leader
No matter which hats I wear,
Being a woman is the hardest hat to wear
Because every time, I stand before men and some of my fellow women, I will always seem good for only one thing
sex.
The moment I want to express my views, I'm told women don't talk much.
The moment I choose to wear my head scarfs halfway on my head
I'm killed because I am a woman.
